Washington State University researchers have discovered a way to help cancer cells age and die, creating a promising avenue in cancer treatment as this could aid in slowing and even stopping tumor growth. An annual study conducted by HealthGrades.com of patient safety at American hospitals found Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Providence Holy Family Hospital to be in the top 5 percent in the nation. TrippUmbach's study presented June 2010, stated that strong university partnerships,existing research infrastructure, strong, comprehensive healthcare delivery system, existing bio-medical industry cluster, and a proactive economic development community help position the Riverpoint Campus as America's Next Great Academic health Science Center. The American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) recently awarded Sacred Heart Children's Hospital the Beacon Award. Spokane's Signature Genomic Laboratories ranked 114 in The Inc.'s 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America Forbes Magazine ranks Washington State #3 Best State for Doing Business Business Facilities 2008 State Rankings Report recognizes Washington State as the #4 Greenest state; #6 in Biotech Venture Capital Investments; #7 Most Educated Workforce; and #8 Top State for Manufacturing Momentum |
