Spokane’s Riverpoint Campus serves as the region’s academic health center. Campus programs are developed in partnership with area universities, hospitals, major clinics, private practitioners and the Institute for Systems Medicine. Located in the heart of Spokane’s University District, the Riverpoint Campus is home to Washington State University Spokane; selected programs of Eastern Washington University and Whitworth University; Sirti, a state economic development agency; and the Institute for Systems Medicine, a research institute. The campus houses the administrative offices of the Community Colleges of Spokane, and Gonzaga University is located directly north, across the Spokane River.
WWAMI is a partnership between the University of Washington School of Medicine and the states of Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho, designed to provide access to publicly-supported medical education across the five-state region. Three years of medical school training already takes place in Spokane; a full medical school is on the way. RIDE, Regional Initiatives in Dental Education, is a partnership between the University of Washington School of Dentistry and Eastern Washington University that expands dental education opportunities in the Spokane region.
