Annually, Greater Spokane Incorporated travels to Olympia, Washington, and Washington D.C. with regional partners and business and civic leaders to advocate for and present Eastern Washington’s unified agenda for initiatives identified as critical to economic growth for the region.  Participating Chambers include Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, Greater Spokane Incorporated, Greater Spokane Valley and West Plains.

Olympia:
The trip to Olympia is intended to give participants the ability to advocate for important projects and regional priorities.  These trips include meetings with Eastern Washington legislators, the Governor, legislative leadership, committee members, and agency heads.  Past accomplishments have included $37 million in funding for spokane regional education, transportation, and civic projects, supplemental medicaid funding for Spokane hospitals, and the establishment of a first year  medical school in Spokane.

Before you go to Olympia, attend the annual Legislative Forum and Reception in Spokane.  The Forum on December 9th (link to this) features a panel of legislators from across the state and announces the release of the Legislative Agenda.

Washington D.C:
The D.C. trip gives participants the ability to advocate for important projects and regional priorities. These trips include meetings with Washington and Idaho Senators and Representatives, key staff, and agency leaders.  Past accomplishments have included funding for transportation, education, and human services projects as well as successful advocacy for military missions and Fairchild Air Force Base preservation.
