PepsiCo's Mountain Region Beverage Chooses New Location in Spokane Valley Print E-mail

June 6, 2012 - Three of PepsiCo’s Mountain Region beverage sites have announced the selection of a new location for the consolidation of its North Idaho and Eastern Washington distribution centers and regional operations. PepsiCo is a global food and beverage leader that makes hundreds of enjoyable products, including Pepsi-Cola, Mountain Dew and Gatorade.

Greater Spokane Incorporated assisted PepsiCo in obtaining $50,000 in incentive funds from Governor Gregoire’s Strategic Reserve Fund, which will be used for relocation assistance.

“This project is proof that targeted investments can create good, living-wage jobs,” Gov. Chris Gregoire said. “I congratulate the staff at Greater Spokane Incorporated for taking the lead in working tirelessly with their local partners and our Department of Commerce to bring PepsiCo’s new consolidated operations to Spokane Valley. Their work, combined with support from my Strategic Reserve Fund and investments in critical road projects will mean PepsiCo will create new jobs in Washington state that pay above the local median wage and include full benefits.”

PepsiCo’s Mountain Region beverage sites will be consolidated into a new location in Spokane Valley at the Central Business Park.   Construction is starting at the site now, with plans to have the new facility ready by the end of 2012.  In addition to preserving and growing jobs in Spokane Valley, the project will also add new tax revenues to the city, the county and the state.

“Central Business Park was the best choice for meeting the space and size demands of our business in the Mountain Region,” said a PepsiCo spokesperson. “PepsiCo is committed to innovation and product portfolio growth, and we feel this facility best accommodates our needs.”

Robin, Toth, VP for Business Development at Greater Spokane Incorporated said, “We are very pleased that PepsiCo selected our community as the right location for their project.  Our team works diligently each day to ensure that the Spokane region is positioned to take advantage of new business opportunities.”

From the Central Business Park:

Bruno Teixeira, Asset Manager for the CBP: "We wanted to see PepsiCo bring the consolidated operation, and the jobs it provides, to Spokane Valley. We knew that our central location and class A facility were perfectly suited for its eastern WA distribution center. The City of the Spokane Valley has also been a great partner in helping to facilitate the permitting process for the building improvements."

PepsiCo will move into a space that includes an on-site management team; low operating expenses; concrete tilt-up construction with a modern steel roof; 28 - 31 foot clearance; a recently installed T8 sensor controlled efficiency lighting system throughout and a total of 57 doc-high doors with load-levelers.

The Central Business Park is located at 11606 E. Montgomery Drive in Spokane Valley.
