GSI Supports School Levies Print E-mail
Greater Spokane Incorporated's Executive Committee voted on behalf of the Board of Trustees to support the region's public school levies that will be on the Feb. 14 ballot.

Fourteen area school districts will depend on the passage of school levies to properly fund vital programs and resources, such as textbooks, teaching materials, extracurricular activities, classified support staff, full-time kindergarten, school bus transportation and more. Proposed cuts to education at the state and federal level could have big impacts on our area districts.

"Quality public schools are essential to maintaining our vibrant community," said Tom Fritz, Board Chair of Greater Spokane Incorporated. "Our levies fund critical K-12 educational programs and materials that prepare our youth for higher education and training important for our region's economic success. Without levy funding, our youth suffers, creating additional workforce challenges for our region in the future."
Ballots will be mailed on Jan. 27.
