The Ag Bureau, the agricultural committee of Greater Spokane Incorporated (the Spokane region’s Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Council), recently changed its name to the Agri-Business Council to better reflect its purpose and mission.
The Agri-Business Council works to support and promote the agriculture industry in our region, grow jobs and investments in the Ag industry, advocate at the local, state, and federal level, and promote the public’s understanding of the industry’s role in our regional economy.
"We are excited about our transition to become the Agri-Business Council of Greater Spokane Incorporated," said Jay Allert, President of Aslin-Finch Co. and Committee Chair of the Agri-Business Council. "It represents the significance of the 'business of agriculture' and the commitment of everyone involved to promote and support our important industry." For over 130 years, the Ag Bureau and its members have dedicated themselves to supporting a strong agricultural community in the Inland Northwest. Events include monthly membership meetings with keynote speakers on timely topics, an annual economic forecast, and the annual Spokane Ag Expo and Pacific Northwest Farm Forum, which takes place February 1 – 3, 2011 at the Spokane Convention Center.
