GSI is a Finalist for Green Awards |

(Spokane, Wash.) – Greater Spokane Incorporated (GSI) was recognized at Seattle Business Magazine’s Green Washington Awards, an awards ceremony acknowledging businesses and organizations throughout that state for their efforts in sustainability. Greater Spokane Incorporated received runner-up in the non-profit category, one of only 18 winners in nine categories. GSI submitted a nomination for their work in founding CLEEN NW (Consortium of Leading Energy Efficiency Northwest companies), an industry group dedicated to growing awareness and opportunities for clean technology and energy efficiency businesses in the Spokane region.
CLEEN NW is led by a steering committee comprised of a variety of local industry leaders including: CH2M Hill, Avista Corp., Paine Hamblen, McKinstry, the City of Spokane, and Sirti.
Objectives of CLEEN NW are:
Business Development- Raise awareness of opportunities for current energy efficiency companies
Economic Development- Become more appealing as a region to clean technology and energy efficiency companies who exist outside our region
Community Development- raise awareness in the Spokane community about the energy efficiency companies that already exist in our region
