Greater Spokane Incorporated: Former Major League Pitcher Speaks at Greater Spokane Incorporated Breakfast.(Spokane, Wash.) -  Jim Perry, a three-time All-Star who played major league baseball from 1959 to 1975, will speak at Greater Spokane Incorporated’s membership breakfast this Friday, July 10th on the infield of Avista Stadium. The breakfast begins at 7:15 a.m. and will end at 9:00 a.m.

Perry was an American League All-Star with the Cleveland Indians in 1961, and the Minnesota Twins in 1970 and 1971. Perry also won the AL Cy Young Award in 1970, thanks to his 24-12 record and 3.04 earned run average. In 17 seasons, Perry played for the Indians, Twins, Detroit Tigers and Oakland Athletics. He finished his career with 215 wins.

The Spokane Youth Environmental Conference (SYEC) Project Team will also be featured at the breakfast. The SYEC will be recognized for receiving the Leadership and Assistance for Science Education Reform (LASER) Statewide Science Advocate Award, for promoting environmental science and encouraging students to conduct scientific investigations.
