Spokane Shriners Hospital Stays Open |

After a week of difficult meetings and discussion, the delegates of the International Shrine have made the following decisions through their votes: NO hospitals will be closing. Billing of third party payers or insurers has been approved.
This will not change the core mission and all care will still be provided at no cost to patients and their families. Families without insurance will still have all care provided and for those with insurance, co-pays will be covered by the Shrine. The hospital is exploring possible opportunities for collaboration with Sacred Heart Children's Hospital in the future.
GSI was there in force to show community support for the hospital. We used Launchpad, Facebook and other social media to get the word out quickly and spread information on where to write letters and voice opinions.
Shriners Hospital in Spokane employs approximately 170 employees, and has 6000 active patients from Washington, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, Canada and Mexico. |
