The U.S. House of Representatives will vote today on a balanced budget amendment. The measure needs 290 House votes to pass. Generally, Republicans are for the amendment, while Democrats are against it.

Reports indicate that even if the measure passes in the House, it is likely to have a harder time passing through the Senate.
