Those driving west on Highway 2 just outside Mead can now easily access the North Spokane Corridor.

The community celebrated the opening of the Highway 2 / North Spokane Corridor Interchange yesterday afternoon with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The interchange now allows drivers from Highway 2 to exit onto the corridor, rather than dealing with traffic lights and other traffic.

Further construction is ongoing, as the corridor will connect with Highway 395 by the middle of 2012. Greater Spokane Incorporated and its partners will continue to advocate for further funding to one day connect the corridor with Interstate 90.
