mapBoard needed to determine whether redistricting is needed.

The City of Spokane will begin a process to determine whether the existing Council District boundaries need to be revised. The decision is based on new 2010 U.S. Census data.

A Decennial Districting Board is needed to help with the decision. Those interested in serving on that board must apply by Friday, July 1.

Applicants must be registered voters of the City and have a primary residence in the City for the past two years. Applicants may not be a lobbyist in Washington or have been one in the past year; campaign for elected office or participate in or contribute to any candidate while on the board; or hold or campaign for any council position for two years after the effective date of the districting plan.
