Tighter restrictions on state debt is what's keeping many lawmakers in Olympia during this special session, which has surpassed the halfway point.

Loweing the debt limit from nine percent to seven percent has support from Senate Republicans, Senate Democrats and House Republicans. The construction industry and unions oppose the amendment.
