Both the state House and Senate must come together on a final budget to send to Governor Gregoire during the 30-day special session, which began April 26.

The House and Senate both passed budgets that cut $4.4 billion and $4.8 billion, respectively. Both amounts are short of the $5.1 billion cuts needed to pass a budget.
