| Washington Switches to Mail-In Only Elections |

|
Washington is the second state in the nation to have mail-in only elections.
With the governor’s signature last Tuesday, Washington became the second state in the nation to have all elections vote by mail.
The bill will replace existing legislation that allowed counties to choose whether to have polling places or mail-in ballots. Supporters praise the uniformity that this change will bring while opponents plead the case of Pierce County, the only Washington country to still have in-person voting.
Supporters say the change will provide clarity and increase voter participation, save money on elections, and allow people time to make a clear educated choice in their vote.
