April 8 federal budget deadline just days away.
As the Federal Government Budget standoff continues, both sides seem to be struggling between compromising and holding their ground. Today, both Speaker John Boehner and President Obama held news conferences restating their opposite budget objectives; the one common factor between them was that they both acknowledged that an agreement had not been reached.
Speaker Boehner pointed out the determination of his side not to be forced to give in, describing the Republican movement strongly driven by the large freshman class of representatives and the Tea Party contingent. President Obama spoke on the public’s impatience with the progress of the legislature and warned of public anger over a federal shutdown that could happen as early as Saturday.
