On May 26, the Community Health Association of Spokane (CHAS) and Washington State University College of Pharmacy hosted a healthcare workshop for local teachers and counselors.

“I think this workshop was a good use of time and resources. We always feel it is good to bring awareness to the community about health care careers and what we do for people in our area,” said John Brown from CHAS.

Presentations about career opportunities; administration and business services; and medical, dental and pharmacy services were showcased by CHAS staff, while WSU College of Pharmacy faculty presented on student pharmacy practice experiences, combining pharmacy and academia, and education using simulation.

“I feel I will be better able to share with the youth information about jobs that are in demand,” said Jill Leonetti of Next Generation Zone.
