Greater Spokane Incorporated, in partnership with area educators from local school districts and the business community, leads the Career Awareness Campaign. This campaign spotlights four high-demand, high-growth fields as identified by the Department of Labor:: allied health, manufacturing, aerospace, and business and professional services.
An all school – all industry educational career fair is held each year and gives middle and high school students the opportunity to be introduced to different careers.

- The minimum wage for Washington State would provide a yearly salary of $16,500; if you spent less than one year in a certificate program at the community colleges or a trade school you could, in some cases, more than double that salary.
- 59 percent of annual job openings in Washington State will require one month or more of postsecondary training between 2007-2012.
- Washington State ranks second in the U.S. for innovation, first for creation of new software companies, and seventh for receipt of research and development funding.
- The innovation sector supports 42% of the state's total employment.
