In Washington state, tax credit, waiver and deferral programs are available for qualifying manufacturers, R&D, high technology, warehousing and distribution firms. These incentives encourage the creation and preservation of family-wage jobs and include industries such as aerospace, food processing, biofuels, semiconductor, and renewable energy. The Eastern Washington Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) assists businesses across an eleven county area in securing federal, state and local government contracts. This is a free service including marketing assistance, training, and access to a reduced cost computerized Bid Match Service.
In Spokane County, a Community Empowerment Zone has been designated which allows a company to become eligible for tax deferrals and/or exemptions on new or expanded manufacturing R&D and advanced computing facilities.
