GSI China Trip – Made it to Beijing!

After 5500 miles, and 11.5 hours, the GSI China Trip group finally made it to Beijing!  36 of us have had a very long day, in fact we crossed the International Date Line and lost a day(I think).  I’ve stopped counting how many hours I’ve been up!  The flight was wonderful from fresh warm towels before meals to free souvenir socks, to a laser light to the head.  Yes, a laser light - to check our temperature for swine flu safety.  Our tour provider met us at customs as expected, then brought us to enjoy our first Chinese meal (not counting the airline meals) - Cantonese style.  Stay  tuned – there’s more to come!

Very cool to see you first hand visiting such a remarkable place. Can’t wait to see more photos and read all about China. My fourth grade class will be following your trip too.

Loving the trip photos! We are really seeing new things that are creating interest and excitement in China. My 27 fourth graders want to see more when you have time. Our map in the classroom has a flag on Beijing. Waiting to see where you will go next.
