About Workforce Development Print E-mail

The Greater Spokane Incorporated workforce development department works to position the region for economic expansion by partnering to establish a highly educated and technically skilled workforce, responding to employer needs.

We partner with industry sectors, the education community, and government and have established programs like Career Awareness and Teach the Teachers.  We also work to support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)programming and curriculum including Project Lead the Way, and the FIRST Robotics Program.

1. Assist in the development of educational programs to provide a highly trained workforce for new, expanding, current, and relocating  businesses and industries
2. Provide awareness of industry career and training opportunities to the new generation of workforce
3. Analyze and track existing workforce clusters locally, regionally and nationally
4. Work in partnership with the one stop shops in the area to expand the employment and training opportunities for identified populations
